How to improve your final grade in MAN6636 sect 0687

This will be an important forum in the blog. Take it seriously. As Instructor, I'm addressing a general discussion about the improvement of your final grade in this class. As you understand, your final score will be the result of several activities that the Instructor will evaluate, looking both at the individual (class participation, mid-term and final exams) or collective tasks (case presentations and working projects). Which are the main concerns about your final grade? How do you think your final grade may be improved? How do you feel with the different activities we're doing in class? Do you have any particular suggestion? Please, give your comments.

I think that the way class material was presented today made it easy to learn. I think I learn the material better when the self assessment follows the lecture, as it did today, than when the self assessment is at the beginning of class, like on Monday.

I agree with Geoff. I did the assessment tests online all together before the exam, but the material sinks in more when it is applied as you learn the information in class.

I also like the MC assessments better than the mini essays we were doing in the beginning of the class. They are really helpful because they give a lot of relevant practice for the exams.

I agree with the previous posts about having the assessments after the lecture. I think last class was a good mix of discussion at the beginning of the lecture period, and at the end reviewing what we discussed.

I'm also going to agree with the previous posts. I like having the multiple choice questions given out and discussed in class. As for improving my grade, I think that these multiple choice questions will help.

On the book companion site above, there is a interactive quiz for every chapter on the left of the website. Multiple questions there are very similar to what we did in the midterm. I think that will be helpful to improve our final grades.

I agree. I like how the self assessments pull everything we've learned together at the end of the lecture. I feel like I am remembering the material better because of this.

As I have stated in a previous blog, I feel that the MC in-class assessments are a perfect way to see where we stand as far as studying goes. I really like the discussions in class. To improve your overall grade, I would say to try to participate in class more obviously, read read read your book. That is the only way you can effectively contribute to a class discussion.
